Riding in the Moment
Riding in the Moment™ is an evidence-informed program designed to increase the quality of life of adults with dementia and their family members and friends.
Throughout an eight-week session, participants join trained Three Gaits staff members and volunteers working in partnership with the Geriatric Health Services Research Lab at UW-Madison at our farm in Stoughton and enjoy a morning of experiential horse-related activities.
Participants can ride, groom, interact with horses, and engage with staff, volunteers, family members or friends, and other participants.
No prior horse experience is necessary. Participants do not need to ride – they can simply enjoy time around our horses or in nature.
This program has been proven safe and appropriate for adults with mild (early) and moderate (middle) stages of dementia.
